I write novels, short stories, writing advice, cultural commentary, and whatever else I want. I’m a self-published author, freelance writer, and English major at Benedictine College. Here you’ll find news about my latest work, two weekly features, and musings on storytelling.
If you’d like to write a guest post, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me what you want to write and why you think it should be on this blog.

I am a man without a hometown, and a man who has a story to tell, just like you.
In 1992, I was born to a Roman Catholic Marine officer and his ex-Methodist writer wife. We jumped between California and Virginia for several years, before making an abrupt move to Milwaukee. It was there where my love of writing and storytelling took root.
2007 found me in Great Falls, Montana, staring like an idiot at resplendent sunsets and writing tentatively at a fantasy novel that I didn’t tell anybody about. To my surprise, I graduated from high school four years later with a complete book.
What on earth should I do with it? As I pondered, I became an English major at Benedictine College. It took me until spring break of 2011 to decide. I couldn’t leave that fantasy novel alone. I wanted to self-publish it.
Over the summer and fall, I dove into the text. I re-wrote the first half of the story. I tugged and toyed with plotlines, scrambling to get everything in line. When I got too frazzled, I wrote and published a short story to test the waters of e-publishing. I was in over my head and I loved every minute of it. So many times I sunk into stress, moaning and wondering why anyone would ever want to do something so crazy. Then I got right back to editing dialogue. I knew what I wanted and I refused to yield.
On October 25th, 2011, The Quest (Part One of The Kingdom Trilogy) debuted on Smashwords.com. In December 2011, it went onto the Kindle Store. Before long, a hard copy will available on FastPencil.
I am now a self-published author, and I refuse to slow down. The Stand (Part Two of The Kingdom Trilogy) is coming out in 2012.
If you haven’t gotten your copy of The Quest, catch up on Arman’s adventure on Smashwords and the Kindle Store. If you don’t want to spend any money, I have that short story for free, exclusively on Smashwords.
